New addition

Remember that band? hahaha! Anyway we have a new addition to our Mojo Girls and here she is...

1. Name: Jessica Summers

2. What is your Day job?
Mom and domestic diva.

3. Do you have a spouse, children..pets?
I have two kids, Anberlin and Sebastian, who are perfect offspring of their parents. I call them my "Lady and the Tramp" kids because my daughter Anberlin has dark hair like me and my son Sebastian has platinum blond hair like his daddy once had. My husband is in the US Army and is a total scrapbooking enabler. He never complains about my spending and always tells me, "if you want it, buy it."

4. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.
Blog

5. How long have you been scrap booking?
A little less than three years. I got my first scrapbook kit type thing when I was pregnant with Anberlin. I kinda just wrinkled my nose at it...maybe b/c it was not really my style of kit or whatever. Little did I know that was the catalyst to a new obsession. Thinking back though, I had plenty of journals that had photos of friends, doodles, and lots of quotes that caught my eye. I really became a full fledge scrapper this last year. My husband was deployed for a year to Korea and I needed something to make the days go by faster and a way to cope with missing him. Now that I'm fully into it, I've taken to scrapbooking naturally. I am at ease doing it.

6. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
A lot of the time, I'll surf the scrap sites. If I see a layout I like, I do a quick sketch of it in my notebook and come back to it later. I also like looking at sites like delias, forever 21, urbn.com, to find cute designs or phrases. MUSIC! Lyrics (like from Fall Out Boy, The Format, or Alkaline Trio to name a few) are wonderful for titles. Oh and I can't forget tattoos and flash.

7. What is your must-have item on a layout (other than the necessities)?
I've been implementing puff paint alot lately. I love my unicorn pen (LOL!!), Gelly Roll Glaze/Souffle pens are a MUST and pretty much anything that can cause chaos.

8. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique?
Ugh! This is a hard question to answer because my style constantly changes with my moods. Some days I prefer clean and simple lines. Other days it's one of those "chaotic, holy-hell-can-she-fit-anymore -crap-on-that-layout?" type of days. I do like trying to use my own drawings/art in my layouts. I have a sketchbook of tattoos that I started a few years ago. I was tired of seeing it sit on my bookshelf, collecting dust, so I started cutting out the drawings to use as embellishments. I like mixing up fonts and love long titles. I also find myself saving tags from clothes that I buy and using them on layouts.

9. Can you describe your scrapping process?
I start out with a photo and begin looking for papers that match the mood. I browse the net for inspiration or sketch something from my mind. Then I just go with it. I really don't have a rhyme and reason to my craziness. I'm a really slow scrapper. LOL.

10. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.)

Last but not least...

Our remaining 3 mojo girls...I cant say enough about these very talented 3!

First off one lovely mojo girl...

Melissa Mann

1. What is your “Day” job? I am a stay-at-home-wife to Troy and a mama to three furry babies: Samantha, Lucy, & Daisy!

2. Do you have a spouse…children..pets? Yes I do!! I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for almost 4 years! We were married on Valentine’s Day in 2004 - one of the best days of my life! We have no children at this time, but we do have three VERY spoiled pets that might as well be children!!!

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link. Blog

4. How long have you been scrap booking? I have been scrap booking for just under a year. I actually started “collecting” stuff about 2 years ago….but, hoarded it for quite a while before I actually gave in and started using it!!! Now, I’m completely and totally addicted! Some of my favorite products at the moment are: ledger paper, felt, & rubons!

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts? I find inspiration from MANY different sources!! Surprisingly, magazine ads really inspire me in many ways: design, layout, & color. Other sources of inspiration include: sketches, other people’s layouts, and music!

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)? Right now, I would have to say that would be PAINT!! I LOVE paint! And I have been using it on all of my layouts lately.

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? I guess I would describe my style as kind of freestyle-ish with a bit of funk and grunge thrown in! What is your favorite technique? One of my favorite techniques that I turn to over and over again is distressing. There are so many ways to distress and I usually implement at least ONE of the ways on my layouts. I love using sand paper on the edges of my photos; I LOVE inking *staz-on ink pads ROCK!*; and of course, paint on the edges of my layouts and/or pictures!

8. Can you describe your scrapping process? Usually I start with whatever my theme for the layouts is going to be and usually work from my title. I figure out what my title is going to be and then decide on which picture goes best with it and then my papers and embellishments!

9. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.)
Scrapinstyletv
Bad Girl Kits
Scrapbook.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Next up a very sweet mojo girl...

Micayla Metcalf

1. What is your “Day” job? I work as a sales assistant for a window, door and conservatory company. Not the greatest job but it gives me time to read scrapping mags and books, which is not half bad!

2. Do you have a spouse…children..pets? I live with my Fiance Steve aka Mini Pops and we have 2 cats Love puff and Molly Moo's,a dog called Scooby and amillion and one fish in a tank that is as wide as I am tall! No children yet, but they hopefully will feature in our lives one day.

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link. Blog

4. How long have you been scrap booking? I have been scrapping for about 2 years now.

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts? I find inspo' everywhere, mags, books, blogs, forums, shops you name it I normally find some kind of inspiration even if it is just a colour combo.

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)? I don't really have a must have item but I love to use the barcode strips at the bottom of patterned paper a lot!!

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique? My style...........I don't think I have one. I tend to just go with the flow and create a layout based on the photo or how I am feeling. I do vintage with a twist, soft layouts, funky ones etc but I cannot seem to make white space work for me. I have to embellish like mad!!!!

8. Can you describe your scrapping process? In a nutshell nope! I have to have music, a drink and the right frame of mind and then I just play with photos, paper and embellies till something clicks.

9. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.) I post all my layouts on my blog and I have a slide show on there which I try to update on a regular basis, or I upload onto SISTV, twopeas or UKscrappers under the name of cayliehotpants. Don't ask where the user name come from, I have never worn hotpants in my life!

--------------------------------------------------------------

And one of the most talented ladies around...

Michelle Clement

1.What is your "Day" job? I'm working in the animation industry right now, having just graduated from film school in February 2007. I started out animating on a cartoon called "George of the Jungle" and then moved on to doing AfterEffects. It's pretty cool because you're constantly moving around onto new productions..keeps it interesting!

2. Do you have a spouse, children..pets? I am dying for a pet! You have no idea!...but til then, I'm living with my boyfriend.

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is
the link. I post here almost everyday so my family, friends, and blog-buddies can keep tabs on me: blog

4. How long have you been scrap booking? I took a beginner's class when I was 12, which was 10 years ago....it's only been hardcore for about 4 years, though.

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts? Hmm...Usually the world around me is super-inspiring...but magazine ads, art galleries, etc. are also really great! I get a lot of page ideas listening to a favorite song, laughing at a new picture, or when I have some hot new product in my hands! It's unexplainable though, sometimes pages just happen because I need to get something off of my chest.

6. What is your "must-have" item on a layout (other than the necessities)? My must-haves are Stazon, Embroidery thread, my Hero Arts letter stamps, and, lately, I've realized I can't scrap without acrylic paint! But I'd say my must-have new product is anything with a skull!!

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique? I've been told my style is very 'layered', but I'm not sure. It sometimes has a vintage vibe, sometimes it can be kind of clean, it always looks a little distressed/shabby-chic. I stopped trying to figure it out...lol...My favorite technique(s) are inking edges, painting edges, and I am obsessed with dying chipboard pieces in walnut ink!

8. Can you describe your scrapping process? Most often, this is how it goes: I start with an idea, story, challenge or picture (or sometimes, the product, depending on what it's for)...dig through my stash and find the things I might use. Start to play around with matching the things; see what looks good together. Start cutting things out, make a base, play with the layers. Glue the main pieces down. Stitch some edges. Decide I don't like what I glued down and move it. Add some embellies and a title, if there's room. Stitch some more. Glue more things down on top. Paint and ink the edge of the page. Oh, yeah! the journalling! Add the journalling (sometimes I completely forget to leave space for it..woops!) And Voila! It's really haphazard and always changing until I think things are just right.

9. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.) My screen name is "saturngrrl", and I have a gallery at ScrapinStyletv and also TwoPeas under that name. I post my work regularly in these galleries and on my personal blog, as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you girls for being a part of this wonderful team! Stayed tuned later today I will draw a winner and post who that lucky girl is! So come back! You still have time to get that blinkie on your blog if you haven't done it yet!

Talented girls...

2 More of them.

Lizee A.

1. What is your “Day” job?
I'm a senior office tech for LA Unified School District.

2. Do you have a spouse…children..pets?
Does being Justin Timberlake's imaginary wife count?
I also have one beautiful for legged daughter ,Jasmine. She's the best nap buddy.

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.
Blog

4. How long have you been scrapbooking?
3 years

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
Depends on what type of inspiration I'm seeking. Sometimes music, new photos, conversations, stores such as Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. My best layouts have been inspired from emotions I'm feeling at that moment. Creating is hands-down the best outlet. And of course fellow scrappers always inspire me and get my mojo juices followin.

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)?
PAINT!

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique?
The scrapping style question is always a tough one because I love a little bit of each style that's labeled in the industry. I love to freestyle paint, use lace or vintage pieces to create a shabby chic look, add swirls to get an elegant/romantic feel and I appreciate the clean patterned look a la Ali Edwards.
As I continue to scrap, I'm always learning and growing throughout the process. I don't think I've developed a style that can fall only into one category. Someday I might have a labeled look. As for now I'm enjoying taking bits and pieces and blending it all to make my own creation.

8. Can you describe your scrapping process?
-Brainstorm/Journal in my notebook, pieces of napkins, receipts (depends where Im at)
-Browse through CK Mag or 2ps
-Choose pics
-Choose supplies (the pp selection process takes forever! LOL)
-Snack on cheese
-Pop In a DVD or Turn on Itunes
-and Create!
The whole process takes hours. Im such a turtle scrapper..LOL

9. Where can we see more of your work at (on line galleries, etc.)

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
My kids, outside world, internet and other scrapbookers.

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)?
Hmmm It would have to be using a pen.

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique?
I dont have a scrappin style. I like EVERYTHING. It depends on the picture and the paper. And I dont have a fav tech I love them all! LOL!

8. Can you describe your scrapping process?
I start with the paper...Then go thru the pics to see what goes with that paper. After that I have to figure out where all these lovely papers go and then i dig out ALL my stuff and make a huge mess to find the right embellishments! LOL!

9. Where can we see more of your work at (on line galleries, etc.)
Scrapbook.com, scrapinstyle tv, poppyink.com, myspace. Usernames bettiescrapbook.

Say hello...

To 2 wonderfully talented ladies on the Mojo team...

Kristi Lewis

1. What is your “Day” job?
I'm the Department Assistant for Client Solutions @ FIM.

2. Do you have a spouse…children..pets?
I live a happy single life with my three fuzzy kids - Tedi, Kodi and Niner.

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.
Blog

4. How long have you been scrap booking?
I have kept scrapbooks since jr. high, but really got into the scrapping industry about three years ago (or so). I started out just keeping memorabilia like movie tickets, notes passed in school, awards and birthday cards in a magnetic album (shutter!) and then after high school I bought my first scrapbook album. Fully embellished with crayon drawn patters. Yikes right?!

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
I find inspiration everywhere! I keep a notebook in my purse so anytime I come up with an idea I write it down. I get inspiration from music, friends, ads, the daily bustle of a morning commute, the weather, daily interactions, food, family and of course from online blogs and scrapsites.

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)?
I'm a patterned paper whore. I need to have at least two different patterned papers on all of my layouts. And Ink! Ink ink ink!

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique?
My scrapping style.....is neatly messy!

8. Can you describe your scrapping process?
I take forever doing a layout. First I pick the photos, then the paper....then I think of the layout of the photos. After that I think of the title and then let the creativity flow in deciding on the embellishments for the layout. I just about never adhere anything until I know it's just the way that I want it.

9. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.)
I keep a lot of layouts on www.twopeasinabucket.com, my username is kritters. I also have work posted on MySpace.

.....................................................................................

And Lindsay Duranceau

1. What is your “Day” job? Retail, blah! haha

2. Do you have a spouse…children..pets? A boyfriend, no children, no pets

3. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.Yep, Blog

4. How long have you been scrap booking? Started in January of '07 by making a mini album for my boyfriend for V-Day and began getting "serious" about it in March of this same year.

5. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
Everywhere it strikes me! From fellow scrapbookers, products, colors, feelings, etc. :)

6. What is your “must-have” item on a layout (other than the necessities)? Probably notebook fringe and actual scraps, as in if I have a tiny piece of something, I save it and then use it on another LO. Lately, I've hardly used a whole sheet of paper other than for backgrounds! haha

7. What would you say your scrapping style is? Funky Chic! I like inking and outlining things...anything to make stuff stand out! And I really like the look of machine stitching, but I don't have a sewing machine and I don't know how to use one, although I'd like to on both counts :)

8.Can you describe your scrapping process? I take my picture, I sit down at my card table, I grab some PP, place pieces around where I think I'd like them, play around with it for a little while until I decide where at least one piece will definitely go, then I tape it down and go from there...it's all trial and error with me, like a big ol' puzzle! I just keep adding until I think it looks "done".

9. Where can we see more of your work at (online galleries, etc.)On SB.com: Scrapbook.com, my blog, 2Peas: Twopeas and on SIStv: Scrapinstyle
