Guest Mojo girl!

Ah this girl is super wicked great and she inspires me all the time. I am so glad to have her join us this challenge.

1. Name: Jen Geigley

2. What is your day job? I am a freelance graphic designer and a stay-at-home mom.

3. Do you have a spouse children...pets? I've been married for almost five years to my husband, Bo. He is super talented at skateboarding, snowboarding, kayaking, biking, off-road unicyling, and he's a graphic designer as well. We have a one-and-a-half year old daughter named Lotus, who keeps us on our toes. And we used to be proud owners of several reptiles, including a chameleon named Beavis and a ball python named Butters. But we found them new homes after we had Lotus. Pythons and babies don't mix.

4. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link. Yup, you can find me here: heyjenrenee

5. How long have you been scrapbooking? I have been scrapbooking since 2004 (but I made basic - very embarrassing - scrapbooks in high school and college.)

6. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?I take mental notes from cartoons that my daughter is watching, pretty things I see on Etsy, Flickr, album artwork, catalogs from Anthropologie and Free People and Urban Outfitters, graphic design mags, and music that I listen to. I also love looking at all of my talented online scrap friends' blogs. My pages might not look like these things exactly, but sometimes a song will give you a 'feeling' and that comes out on the page, or I'll see a color scheme in a photo that I love.

7. What is your must-have item on a layout (other than the necessities)? Ooooh, that would have to be Thickers. And also found papers from magazines or catalogs or things I get in the mail.

8. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite technique? I would say my style is somewhat simple collage. I usually end up liking my cleaner, more basic pages best. My favorite techniques are using paint and stitching with colored thread. And using a black sharpie instead of an inkpad to 'ink' my edges. I like markers.

9. Can you describe your scrapping process? I'll lay the basics out on my page and then gradually add more elements/move things around until if feels right. I'll search through junk drawers and my stash of random 'life' stuff to see if I can find little things that will give the project a little bit more meaning or relevance. I am a hoarder and I keep everything. Then I have to stick everything down before I can move on to something else.

10. Where can we see more of your work (online galleries, etc.)You can find me on SIStv, and in my Flickr galleries: Red Velvet Kit Club, The Creative Type, and Work Your Soul.

**Thank you so much - I am so honored to be a Guest Mojo Girl!**

Challenge 26

Some would say we had a life changing election this year. We have seen a lot of blogs used as soap boxes. That made me think why not use our scrapbooking creations as sort of a "soap box". We need to document the way we feel about certain things for the next generation. I know they would love to know. Your challenge is to make a statement with your scrapbooking. It can be any kind of a statement. Use it as your "soap box", tell us something that you think is important, or something that we should know. You may not even have to use words to make your statement. The sky is the limit! Second part of the challenge is to use ink. Any way you want to any kind at all.

Our sponsor this time around is one of the best kit clubs out there. The kits always have a little taste of everything. If you like art mixed with scrapbooking you will want to win a kit from Red Velvet.

Check out the Mojo Girls' statements.

There are so many statements you can make. We cant wait to see yours! Link us up by Nov 30Th for a chance to win a kit from Red Velvet.

Guest Mojo Girl

Our guest Mojo girl is someone I hold dear to my heart. She is one super lady and a very talented scrap godess. She constantly is inspiring me and I am so glad she is going to be apart of this challenge.

1. Name: Theresa Koback

2. What is your Day job?
I am an office manager of a small propane company.
I have been working here for almost 13 years.

3. Do you have a spouse children..pets?
I am married {since 2001}to my brother's best friend, and the funny thing about it is
that my brother is dating my best friend....ha!
I have two spoiled little girls, Reese {4} a princess and Cameron {2} a tomboy.
My third child is a boxer baby named Topanga and in case you were wondering,
she is just as spoiled as the other two.

4. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.
My blog is

5. How long have you been scrapbooking?
I have been scrapbooking off and on since 1998, more so in the past 3 years though.
My first albums are in hiding ;) ...they are full of Mrs. Grossman stickers. ha!

6. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?
A lot of my inspiration comes from the world around me and at the weirdest times.
I could be taking a shower or laying in bed and a lightbulb
goes off!! ha! I also love to read blogs and search online galleries.

7. What is your ¡°must-have¡± item on a layout (other than the> necessities)? right at the moment it is something vintage like lace,
or a retro image, music sheets, fabric, ect.

8. What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite> technique? My style? well...embellished? is that style? I love bright colors, embellishments, layers and tons of dimension.
I have just recently came across gesso, my new favorite thing to use. .> 9. Can you describe your scrapping process?

I usually grab a few photos and lay them on a few different papers,
to see which one makes them stand out the most. Then I grab more paper because
I still do not think that any of those papers look quite right.
I usually go through at least 20 pieces before I find the right one.

After I find the right background, I start layering a few embellishments or patterned paper
and work my way out from the photo. I like to crinkle paper alot!

I really never glue anything down until I think the layout is finished. I
staple most of the things down that I can . Mostly because in the scrapping process,
the darn glue dots get lost somewhere along with the 5 pair of scissors
that I start out with!
I am very messy! LOL!~

10. Where can we see more of your work (online galleries, etc.)
You can find me at my Red Velvet Kit Club set on flickr,Scrap in style and

Challenge 25

Our next challenge is brought to you by our lovely Mojo Girl Christina. She is a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and thought it would be a great idea to have a challenge using the story. I too love Alice in all its whimsy and decided she was quite right. Your challenge is to use Alice in Wonderland as inspiration. That means take ANYTHING from the story and use it. It could be images, quotes, book pages, colors, whatever your little heart desires. The second part of the challenge is to use lace.

We have a wonderful sponsor... Bad Girls Kits! Their kits are just stunning! If you have admired from afar but never took the plunge now is your chance to test the waters. Trust me once you do you will become a subscriber.

Beautiful beautiful!

Let's see what inspo the Mojo girls have come up with.

Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? If so, what is the link.

How long have you been scrapbooking?

I started on this wonderful journey of scrapbooking about 8 years ago and I never looked back. I have met the most wonderful people and I continue to be in awe of this fabulous art!

Where do you find your inspiration for layouts?

Mostly in my head....I really don't look to anything external...I think the supplies alone fuel my inspiration...they speak to me. ;)

What is your ¡°must-have¡± item on a layout (other than the

Gotta have flowers and decorative stick pins. OH....and don't forget the cardboard!!!

What would you say your scrapping style is? What is your favorite

Eclectic....always mixing it up. My favorite technique??? Hmmmm....I don't really have one.....I have many, but if I had to choose just one, I would have to say mounting cut out paper on cardboard...I love dimension and this is my favorite way of creating it and recycling at the same time!

Can you describe your scrapping process?

What's that??? lol....I don't really have a process....or is "putting as much stuff on the page as you can" a process??? hehehehhehehe....I honestly never make plans...I sit down and just reach for whatever is in site...somehow it's going to work!
