Say Hello

1.Name? Jennifer Matott

2. What is your Day job? Right now, I'm on mommy leave, but I'm an art teacher for my career and LOVE it!

3. Do you have a spouse children..pets? A hubby of 9 years, 2 kids (Mark is 4 and Christopher is 2 months), no furry friends.

4. Do you have a blog that you regularly post on? http://arttalk-sigmagirl.blogspot.com/

5. How long have you been scrapbooking? I've probably be scrapping since high school when I filled those awful magnetic paged albums with stickers, paper clippings, and photos of my activities and friends, but I got into it seriously when I decided to do my own wedding album. I started with basics and now I've added my knowledge of fine art materials and techniques to my pages for a more authentic "me" style. Funny thing is... I still haven't finished that album! LOL!

6. Where do you find your inspiration for layouts? I am always inspired by others artwork. I browse galleries, challenge blogs, books, and fine art exhibits for inspiration. Usually I do my best thinking / idea building at night right before bed!

7. What is your "must-have" item on a layout (other than the necessities)? I think right now, I'm drawn to anything metal and cardboard.

8. What would you say your scrapping style is? I'd call my style eclectic and artistic. I love art and materials! What is your favorite technique? one that I created, printing photos on ribbon. I love the look and the whole process! Painting on my layouts is a favorite too!

9. Can you describe your scrapping process? Messy! It sometimes starts with a product or material or can start with a photo that I'm particularly inspired by and then I start pulling stuff out of my stash to use. It's craziness in my art room... stuff everywhere! I make a huge mess. I love to get down and dirty! (Hubby is not so happy about that... he's a neat freak! lol!) Many a happy accident leads to discovering a technique or look that I didn't expect!
